About

One APIA Nevada is a 501(c)4 grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to uniting and supporting the Asian Pacific Islander Americans in Nevada. We advocate for progressive policies that benefit the hardworking members of our community. Nevada is home to over 300,000 Asian Pacific Islander Americans, comprising of around 10 percent of the total population.

We aspire to amplify the diverse stories and voices of our community and focus on the issues that affect our livelihood. Building a better understanding of everyone in the APIA community and supporting them through services that can uplift their experiences in Nevada is what we strive to achieve every day.

History

One APIA Nevada was founded in 2018 in an effort to unite the fastest growing group in Nevada, Asian Pacific Islander Americans. From 2000 to 2010, the Asian American population has grown 130 percent.

"We need [people] to understand that we are made up of 48 ethnicities, languages and cultures in Nevada alone," said Duy Nguyen, our executive director.

We emphasize the importance of representing every single ethnicity in our community and we strive to invigorate our presence in Nevada politics. Since our beginnings, we have been featured in several local and national media.
