EDUCATION
Around 9 percent of Asian Americans in Nevada live in poverty and this undeniably affects families with students. In the current COVID-19 pandemic, many students are required to have reliable internet access and technology. But low-income students are at risk of falling behind because of the digital divide.
In addition, 69 percent of Asian Americans in Nevada speak a language other than English at home and of those, more than 40 percent say they speak English proficiently. We believe in the significance of English language services at the public educational level and we believe in equal opportunity of academic access.
