About the Role
One APIA Nevada is a paid canvasser that will work with the Organizing Director to execute the goals and metrics with the organizing team. The paid canvasser will be expected to work collaboratively with a team to effectively outreach to voters. The paid canvasser will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to phone banking, text banking, and nonpartisan voter outreach.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
Work to build trust with AAPI ethnic and cultural groups and grow relationships with local community leaders and advocates.
Identify and understanding of key issues and translate policies into localized, community-oriented narratives in order to educate and uplift the AAPI community.
Develop organizing skills by designing and successfully carrying out outreach events and coordinate digital and social media campaigns.
Gain expertise and assist in the implementation of following outreach tactics:
Phonebanking
Door knocking
Nonpartisan voter outreach
Textbanking
Special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
Possess a valid driver's license with sufficient vehicle insurance coverage
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid conditions or otherwise inclement weather
QUALIFICATIONS

Previous organizing or canvassing experiences preferred but not required
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects
Ability to work independently and in team settings
Familiarity with Nevada politics or Asian and Pacific Islander communities experience in the Battle Born state is a plus, but not required
Commitment to progressive causes and issues
