About the Role
SUMMARY:
The field team coordinator will oversee all canvassing programming on behalf of One APIA Nevada in Clark County, including nonpartisan voter education and outreach, voter registration, and get-out-the-vote campaigns, among other tasks. Other projects and responsibilities may be added as needed. This position is funded contingency on grants until November 2024 with a possibility of extension.
ROLE:
Reporting to the Field Manager, field leads will help execute One APIA Nevada’s field programs in Clark County and Washoe County, including using VAN to cut turf, and working with canvassers to achieve team goals. The field lead will also work to educate voters about the 2024 electoral cycle. The field lead may also be involved in the recruitment of our programs. Other projects and responsibilities may be added as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate directly with canvassers to resolve problems encountered by canvassers in the field
Supervision and guidance of canvassers' activities and quality control of results
Work with the field manager to identify and understand key issues and translate policies into localized, community-oriented narratives in order to educate and lift up the AAPI community;
Utilize the voter database to determine goals and locations for canvassers
Work with the field manager to execute a comprehensive field canvassing program including developing a plan to hit daily goals and provide feedback and training to canvassers
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of VAN or other databases is strongly preferred; not required
Strong computer skills, including timekeeping programs and Google Suite
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects
Ability to work independently and in team settings
Familiarity with Nevada politics or Asian and Pacific Islander communities and experience in the Battle Born state is a plus, but not required
Commitment to progressive causes and issues
Bilingual (speaking, reading, and writing) in an Asian language preferred but not required
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required
