About the Role
SUMMARY
Can be based in Las Vegas or Reno, Nevada. Reporting to the Political Director, the youth fellow will help the organizing team execute their youth outreach program successfully. The organizing fellow will build power and connections for the Asian Pacific Islander community in Nevada and bring our community’s voices and experiences to the forefront of national and local conversations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build connections and community with local AANHPI ethnic and cultural groups and grow relationships with local community leaders;
Learn about how politics and government impact the APIA community and real-life impact on us
Plan fun events to engage our community (Puppies & Boba, Pokemon Park Clean Ups, Kpop to the Polls, etc.)
Learn about APIA history in Nevada and Nationwide, and develop leadership skills through weekly leadership and educational events
Connect with other Asian youth and students in Nevada
Gain experience in the following:
Data management
Digital and social media campaigns
Community Organizing

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be currently enrolled in high school or a secondary educational institution
Strong commitment to time management & leadership development
Basic computer literacy and desire to advance technical skills
Ability to work independently and in team settings
Bilingual in one of the following languages: Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog strongly preferred
Familiarity with Nevada politics or Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities
Experience in the Battle Born state is a plus, but not required
