Historically, electoral work within the APIA community has revolved around a campaign timeline, limiting conversations with voters around an election (September-November). One APIA Nevada is taking a different approach—conducting deep canvassing, on the ground through direct voter contact and base-building efforts, year-round.
Current voter contact by campaigns and mainstream 501c4 organizations to Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) voters is conducted in English with limited in-language resources.
From its inception, One APIA Nevada has worked to contact voters year-round with language and messages that resonate with AANHPI voters through a combination of door-to-door knocking, mailers, digital, and paid media.
One APIA Nevada also holds in-language volunteer phone banks in:
Korean 한국어
Mandarin Chinese 中文
Spanish Español
Filipino Tagalog
Thai ไทย
Vietnamese Tiếng Việt
