🍁This month, we celebrated the first cohort of our Youth Fellowship for their successful completion of our 15-week program to develop leaders and advocates for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. We could not be more proud to witness their growth, passion, and determination to fight for justice and representation by doing crucial groundwork this election cycle to get the community mobilized and civically engaged. It has been a privilege to see them shine, and we wish them the best as they take their skills into the world as changemakers and champions in their own right.

We thank the offices of @sencortezmasto, @senjackyrosen, and @rephorsford for awarding our youth fellows certificates of Congressional recognition. We launched a multi-million dollar campaign to turn out the AANHPI vote in communities across Nevada in 2024. This election cycle, One APIA Nevada, in partnership with other organizations such as Alliance for Youth Action and Future Forward, has invested over $4 million dollars into civic outreach to Nevada’s AANHPI communities—an effort that has helped Nevada have one of the strongest AANHPI voter turnouts in battleground states.

Puppies & Boba 2024 was smashing success with 300 attendees who joined us for a lively evening of adorable puppies, live performances, free food and drinks, and plenty of freebies from our community partners.

Several puppies found their forever homes 🐶🏠 and folks in both Northern and Southern Nevada are prepped, pledged, and ready to make their voices heard this November! 🗳️

Amplifying AANHPI Gen Z voices, OAN intern Abby Herrera took part in the conversation to protect reproductive freedom and shared her perspective as a pre-social work major and public health minor at UNR. This month, we welcomed the first cohort of young AANHPI advocates to our Youth Fellowship program here in Southern Nevada! 🎉 The 15-week program aims to prepare our AANHPI youth to be future community leaders and change-makers through education, mentorship, and hands-on experience. Our fellows will also get to connect their cultural identities to advocacy work while learning about AANHPI history, policies that impact our community, the legislative process, coalition-building, community organizing, and more.

Within a few short weeks, our youth fellows have met our AANHPI community leaders from @acdcnv @aapi_chamber @vaclv.nevada @snapiqs, connected with AANHPI state assembly members, and supported movements along side our coalition partners.

We’re excited for a full summer season and look forward to upcoming weeks of educational experiences and fun! 🌞
